This provides an presentation to the new Microsoft Silverlight technology.
Silverlight is a web based technology, established by Microsoft in April 2007. Silverlight is referred to as as a competitor to Adobe Flash.
Silverlight applications are presented to browsers in a text-based markup language called up XAML. One important difference between Flash and XAML is, Flash is a compiled practical application where as XAML is text based. Mostly All Search engines can examine and index such content, which is a vast benefit for webmasters.
For regular web and internet users, Silverlight is a browser plug-in that supports video, audio and animations.
For web developers, Silverlight extends much more. Silverlight supports video and audio files with no need of need of a heavy programming. It permits them to manage events from web pages (like handle start end of video playing etc).
